Window cleaning in Polesworth

Pure water, no ladders, frames and sills every visit. From £15 for a two or three bed, and Polesworth is on the round every month.

Polesworth sits about four miles north east of Tamworth, on the River Anker with the Coventry Canal running through it. It has been on our round for years, and because Dordon, Warton and Grendon are all a couple of minutes away, the whole corner tends to get done in the same run.

What the round looks like here

Most Polesworth customers are on a monthly clean, some every other month. You get a text the night before so you can leave the side gate unlocked, we work from the ground with a pole, and payment collects by Direct Debit after the job rather than before it.

The coverage runs across the whole village: the centre around High Street and Bridge Street, Abbey Green, Hall End, Birchmoor, and out along the lanes towards Pooley Country Park. Alvecote and Baddesley Ensor are on the same round.

Everything is done from the drive. No ladders on the brickwork, nobody at your bedroom window.

Old windows and new windows, same system

Polesworth is not a uniform village and that matters more than people think. There is a genuinely old core around the Abbey and the gatehouse, with listed and period property carrying timber frames, leaded lights and glass that has been in place a very long time. Then there are the terraces that went up while the pits were working, and then the newer estates and infill around the edges with modern uPVC and big glazed extensions.

The pure water system handles all of it, and it is genuinely better on the old stuff:

  • No chemicals. Nothing sitting in the leadwork or soaking into a timber frame.
  • No ladders. Nothing leaning against soft old brick, render, a bay roof or a gutter that has seen better days.
  • Soft brush, gentle pressure. Fine on leaded lights, fine on self-cleaning glass, fine on a conservatory roof.
  • Frames and sills every time. Not just the glass, which is where most of the difference shows on an older house.

What Polesworth throws at your glass

Two things, mainly. The first is hard water. Like the rest of the area, the water out of the tap here is loaded with dissolved minerals, which is why glass cleaned with a bucket dries spotty. We filter ours down to zero parts per million so there is nothing left behind when it dries.

The second is that Polesworth is a village with countryside on three sides and the A5 and M42 not far off. That means tree pollen and farm dust through the summer, mud and salt spray through the winter, and a grey traffic film on anything facing a main road. Regular is cheaper than occasional, because you are cleaning glass rather than stripping it.

What it costs

Same public prices as everywhere else on the round, no Polesworth premium and no phone call needed to find out:

  • £15 a visit, 2 to 3 bedroom home, monthly
  • £18 a visit, 4 bedroom, monthly
  • £20 a visit, 5 bedroom, monthly
  • Add £5 for conservatory sides on a regular round

Bi-monthly costs a little more per visit because there is more on the glass by the time we get to it. The full price list covers gutters, fascias, conservatory roofs and interior cleans as well.

Commercial window cleaning in Polesworth

Alongside the houses we look after commercial premises in the village, including the glass at Polesworth Garage on Grendon Road, which has been on the round every four weeks for the last four years. Shopfronts, offices, units and forecourts get quoted per site after a free visit, and cleans are booked around your opening hours rather than through them.

Gutters, fascias and conservatories

The same van does the rest of the outside. Gutter clearance and fascia cleaning start at £60 for a 2 to 3 bed and £80 for a 4 or 5 bed, and conservatory roofs start at £40. Older property in the village centre tends to need the gutters doing more often than a new build, because of the trees. All of it is on the services page.

Villages around Polesworth

If you are just outside the village, you are almost certainly still on the round. Dordon, Warton, Grendon, Birchmoor, Baddesley Ensor, Alvecote and Kingsbury are all covered, and Amington, Glascote and the rest of Tamworth are on the full list of areas. Not on the list? Ask anyway, it grows all the time.

And if you want to know what is actually on in the village, Visit Polesworth keeps a proper listing of events, shops and services, plus the history of the Abbey and Pooley if you fancy a read.
